Why not come and camp directly on the Pennine Way, visit us in the Tan Hill Inn and sit by the fire and enjoy a real ale? The Tan Hill Inn is steeped in history, why not start the day with our hearty breakfast and order one of our packed lunches to take you through your next day’s trek.

It’s wild camping! Come and enjoy the beautiful views and fantastic skies. Camping costs £10 per person, breakfast is not included but feel to book in for meals when you arrive and register.

To reserve your camping space, simply talk to our staff when you arrive at Tan Hill Inn.

Don’t want to camp? We have luxurious Premier rooms, cosy doubles and a bunkhouse that sleeps 8

Respectful Rules

Whilst we love to see as many mad wild campers, we would also like to see respectful camping for the environment that surrounds you.

All Campers please register before setting up camp.
NO CAMP FIRES, BBQ or GAS ITEMS
NO GLASS ALLOWED (sheep, birds and dogs roam this site)
From 10pm-7am please respect the peace of the campsite and others around you
Toilets are located on the side of the building marked TOILET, please use it. Shower is seasonal (we are happy to allow you to use our staff shower when the outside shower isn’t in use).
OWN ALCOHOL OR FOOD must be consumed on the campsite only, not in the car park, front of or inside the Tan Hill Inn.
Your own rubbish and litter came with you and must return home with you, we do not have enough refuge storage for yours as well. We will happily supply you with a bin bag.
Keep your tent Tag on your guy rope at all times and hand in on your departure
PLEASE NOTE: Anyone found breaking the rules will be removed and no refund will be returned

Amazing place to stay

The dogs were made so welcome, the food amazing, the beer sublime and the Rooms gorgeous! Cant recommend enough!! As for location just out of this world! beautiful beautiful place!!! Can't wait to go back!

A night at Tan Hill

Spent a lovely night at Tan Hill Inn. The room was lovely and quiet and decorated to a high standard. Really comfy and large bed. Food good too. Recommend the hotpot. Beautifully situated in the Yorkshire Dales. We were lucky with the weather.

Beautiful location! Amazing Food!

My husband and I stayed here with our 2 daughters (age 9 & age 7) and found it absolutely faultless! We had our evening meal there as well as breakfast and even our 2 fussy eaters cleared their plates! The food was delicious - couldn’t fault it! Our room was very comfy and clean. We all had a great night’s sleep! Nothing can beat the views & the sheep roaming around outside your window. 10/10!

Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely wonderful - loved our stay so much. The room was huge and very comfortable, breakfast and dinner excellent. Such a magical place in a beautiful setting. The dogs loved it. Will definitely be back!!
