Happy New Year to all our friends of Tan Hill

 December 2015 and January 2016 winter deals-

I hope everyone that managed to book one of our Facebook winter January and February deals enjoyed the experience. Where else would you go for a one night stay for £10 per person with an En-suite room and full English breakfast? We thank you to everybody who brought us a Christmas bauble as part of the deal  and hope you come back again next year to see it back up on the tree. There were some really beautiful ones.  Thank you.

We also campaigned to get 10,000 likes on Facebook which we were very successful so thank you once again  for helping us achieve this target, next year 20,000, do you think we could get there?  Tell your friends and family about us.

We have had a very successful 2015 and are looking forward to 2016 with lots more events and exciting things happening here at the top of the hill.

We can’t believe it is nearly the end of January already.  We would like to share with you some of the exciting events that are happening this year up until August 2016 at the World Famous Tan Hill Inn.  We would hate for you to miss out.

Feb 2016

Valentine’s Day Sunday 14th Feb 2016  £79.00 per couple one night stay. This includes three course evening meal and a complimentary bottle of House red, white or rose wine, we are nearly sold out with our accommodation so do not hesitate to bring your loved ones here for this very special occasion. (You can also take advantage of our pre booked Valentine,s Day deal of £20 per head for a set ,three course meal with a bottle of wine .)

February flyer 15th 19th Feb-  and the 22nd to 25th Feb  Half term Midweek  2 night specials - £50 per head.  First night   you get a main course and a bottle of complimentary wine.

Six Nations- Feb-March Friday, Saturday and Sundays afternoon and evenings Six Nations Rugby - shown live here at Tan Hill in the indoor beer garden with an open fire.  Pie and a pint and entry all for just £5.

March 2016

Jon Palmer Band -5 piece band live on stage Saturday March 5th (£12.00 per ticket including a free pint or glass of wine on arrival (£15.00 on the door)

Local’s Social night –Sunday 6th March 2016-   Free taster - Tan Hill hot pot for the locals and live music with Graham Potter a local lad, 6-30 onwards.  Everybody welcome to meet the locals.

Mother’s Day- March 6th -Treat your mother to a two course Sunday lunch with a free Baileys Irish Cream for 10.95 per head.

St Patricks weekend celebrations – Friday 18th & Saturday 19th March.   Live music and Irish food.

Mid-week Mad March offers- Any Sunday to Thursday until the 24th March £40 per head including one main meal and breakfast

Easter Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday  2-3 day breaks live music every night  Ricki and Ann. Graham Potter, Deadheads, plus another local Artist

Folk picking weekend.  2-3rd April –Entry free of charge.  Chance to listen to the folk players from around  the country- Free of charge no entry fee.

HM Queens 90th birthday celebration- Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st April 2016- This includes a Fun day, Town crier, Indoor garden party, Bonfire, fireworks, plus live music on the evening- full board package 2 nights x 2 people £100 per person.  All ninety year olds have a free meal on the Queen.  Dress code red white and Blue.

St Georges medieval buffet banquet in the barn Weekend- Celebrate St Georges day on 22nd and 23rd April, Saturday, party night.   (Fancy dress based upon the story of St George and the dragon) Roast Hog banquet.  £15.00 per head entrance. Fee. Includes live music and rustic roll, hog roast filling with apple sauce and Yorkshire chunky mixed salad, home-made fresh herb sausage and Live music

Bill and the Ball Breaker Tribute Band- 29th April. £5.00 per ticket including one pint of beer/ cider or larger.

Heavy metal weekend ‘Black Tor Gathering’ from 30th April - Three nights (Bank Holiday weekend) Live music, Saturday and Sunday in the indoor beer Garden. 5/ 6 bands on the Saturday, Ticket price £15.00 per head.  Beer tokens 3 drinks for a £10 (Including guest Ales, Fosters and House Wine)

May 2016

Etap de dale Saturday- 14th May -700 cyclists arrive at Tan Hill. Our local lad Graham Potter playing live music in the bar in the evening.

Tan Hill Spring Wine and cheese Festival Friday 21st - Sunday 23rd  Live music all weekend until Sunday 2pm  Live Music all weekend Any wine 3 for £10.00 Yorkshire, UK and from around the world. 

Tan Hill Sheep show day 63rd Annual show 26th May 2016 World championship Britain’s one and only Tan Hill Sheep show day 63rd Annual show. 10-30 10am onwards Double rooms £40 per head, twin £30.00 per head, Triple £35 per head.  Bunks rooms £20.00 per head all including full English breakfast.

Swaledale Festival- Monday 30th May first time ever at Tan Hill. Fabulous Rory McGrath playing live on the last night of the Swaledale Festival. Ticket £10 per head.   Book before the end of February all rooms £50 or cheaper still book a bunk room for £20 including full English breakfast.

June 2016

Pennine skies folk, country roots weekend, two major concerts plus informal performances in the bar- 3rd and 5th June Artists such as Flossie Mallavialle (Flossie,s great she came over from France and wowed everybody with her sensational voice and a great festival band called Something Nasty in the Woodshed.  Artists not to be missed. Ticket price £40

Tan Hill Charity Ball Friday 10th June 2016 - Tan Hill chosen charity of the month- St Teresa Hospice. The hospice is an independent charity working across South Durham and North Yorkshire to provide- £50 per ticket including a three course meal.  Raffle prizes and auction.  Any donations to auction or raffle prizes we will be grateful.

 Beamish Rally and Father’s Day – Sunday 26th June 2016

Treat your father to a Sunday lunch and desert, plus a free pint for 10.95 per head whilst watching the special Beamish Rally that visits Tan Hill every year.

July 2016

Kwame-D Band  Returns to Tan Hill on  Saturday 9th July R and B and World Music.  Rhythmic sole, reggae , World Music Latin music. Infectious styles of reggae.  £10.00 entrance fee including glass wine or a pint of ale or cider.  Book now, not to be disappointed.

Lambretta club UK (Mod weekend) July 15th- 16th Live music Friday and Saturday night.  £5.00 per ticket per night £7.50 for two nights.

2nd Tan Hill Beer and Cider Festival 21st- 22nd July- Celebrate the start of the English school summer holidays. Live music Friday, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday lunch time. Camping free all weekend as well start off the summer holidays.

August 2016

1st Tan Hill Country festival, compare by Sye Maddison  Artists such as  Toni Hughes, Ronnie Spence, Hayley Sisters, Robbie Cumming, Crystal Clear.  Friday 5th, 6th and 7th of August.  £45 weekend ticket, or £25.00 per night.

Camping free and accommodation £80 to twin £100 for triple and £90 for the double and £80.00 for the twin .  Bunk room £20.  All rooms breakfast included £5.00 for campers.

Bikers weekend Jungles memorial 2 - 13th August - The legend Rides on (Hells Angels) memorial see Facebook- Live music Friday and Saturday night.  Camping £4.00 per head, see details for rooms on the website.
